Temporary Tattoos

Temporary tattoos are a popular children’s item. They work by applying water to the skin, and then laying a piece of paper with ink on the moistened area. The paper is held in place while the water dries. Once dried, the paper is removed and the tattoo remains. Unlike normal tattooing, this method only marks the skin for a few days.

One use of temporary tattoos for adults is to see how you would feel about a real tattoo. Many people considering a tattoo don’t fully appreciate what it is they’re going to do to their body. Tattoos are permanent, meaning that in 40 years when your body is a different shape than it is now, the tattoo will still be there. This shouldn’t be considered a deterrent when deciding whether you want a tattoo or not, rather you should use it to gauge where you want the tattoo to go.

This is where temporary tattoos can come in handy. Purchase a few, and try them out on different areas you’re considering a permanent tattoo. If the spot you are considering feels right with a temporary on it, it’s probably a safe choice for a permanent tattoo. If you don’t like it, it doesn’t go well with your clothing styles, or there is another issue, you should consider a different location.
